Wrestlers and Skin Problems
In Florida, NPs and PAs are allowed to do complete physical exams to release high school athletes to compete for the season; however, when it comes to wrestling, only MDs are allowed to sign off if they have a skin infection anytime during the season. We just found out by chance here in Florida that a new form was made in September 2009 that stated MDs only.
What are the rules in your state? Were you aware that this is an issue?
